This chair is inspired by the Japanese artist Sagaki Keita's drawing called "birthday". Keita implements his technique of many miniature characters, forming one big black and white drawing. He describes "all things are composed of whole and part". The miniature characters in his drawings form a complex and detailed composition. In my egg carton chair, there are nearly one hundred egg carton units which form a complex monochromatic chair in a circular composition resembling Keita's "Birthday" drawing.
